Re-Opening after COVID

Hello Lovely People!

We made it to the other side! More things are opening!

You may have seen the news today that various close contact services can go back to work as of Monday.

Nice lead time Gov! Let me just get my diary <removes pyjamas>.

Some of you may be feeling excited about this, others among you may be feeling concerned.

It's important that everyone does everything in their own time and according to their own circumstances and levels of risk.

Couple of things to note from me:

Firstly, there's no confirmation just yet that massage therapists and reflexologists are included in today's guidance. We must wait a day or so and that's OK, we've got good at that!

Secondly, I'm probably not alone when I say that, for various reasons, I won't be able to open in an abracadabra stylee just because "we're allowed".

So as wonderful as this news is we're not quite there yet.

On a serious note, there's a raft of practice guidance that all therapists including me need to adhere to before we are insured to see you and this comes from our professional bodies.

I'm a member of four:

~ The Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage (ISRM)

~ The Association of Reflexologists (AoR)

~ The Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (MAR)

~ The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT)

So there's a lot of practical risk assessment type biz for me to do.

I'll be implementing the final guidance issued by each of these organisations and will reopen when I can. As an estimate it's likely to be August time, but it could be longer. I will of course keep my Facebook page updated and be emailing the mailing list with news.

On a personal note I've been a key worker and a carer all the way through Lockdown, and like you I've also had no therapy, or a haircut. So I need to be sure I'm ready to be strong, energetic and fabulous enough for the task at hand!

Another thing to note is that I'm not going to take actual bookings in advance as these will need to be done using an electronic system that I'm working on.

Appointments will also need to be shorter to start with. Welcome to the new, but I hope, temporary normal.

Thank you all for your patience.

Keep your fingers & toes crossed that us complementary practitioners are included so that we can all get back to doing what we do best.

I very much look forward to hearing from you and seeing you soon!

Alex
